Bound Phosphorus and Growth of Phytoplankton

No correlation was found between phytoplankton pulses in four North Carolina ponds and variations in bound phosphorus. It is concluded that the interaction of a complex of chemical and physical factors produces both seasonal fluctuations and sporadic blooms of phytoplankton.
