Fat and Growth during Childhood

Fat thickness, size, and maturity status are significantly correlated from 1.5 through 11.5 years in both sexes. Children who are fatter than their contemporaries at 8.5 to 9.5 years reach menarche earlier and complete epiphysial union sooner.
