Evoked Cortical Potentials in Absence of Middle Ear Muscles

Abstract

Evoked potentials to click at auditory cortex were recorded from cats deprived of middle ear muscles. Variations in the amplitude of the response after surgery indicate that the participation of these muscles in habituation, conditioning, and distraction must be minimal.
