Anion-Exchange Properties of Plant Root Surfaces

Anion-exchange properties of plant root surfaces were demonstrated by using negatively charged anion dyes. The site of the positive charges may be amino groups which become positively charged in the presence of hydrogen ions but are neutralized under alkaline conditions.
