Infrared Emission Spectra of Organic Solids from 5 to 6.6 Microns

The emission spectra of thin layers of a number of organic solids have been studied from 5 to 6.6 µ in the infrared to determine if there are specific emission characteristics that would allow identification of such solids as organic. This was the case only for very thin films with strong absorption bands.
