Abstract

α-Aminobutyric acid is activated but not transferred to valine-specific transfer RNA and is unable to repress the isoleucine-valine enzymes in Escherichia coli strain W. α-Amino-β-chlorobutyric acid is activated and transferred to valine-specific transfer RNA and completely replaces valine in repression.
