Physiological quantities of the molting hormone, ecdysterone, injected into female Aedes aegypti prematurely induced separation ofincipient follicles in the ovarioles, an event that normally occursonly in blood-fed females. It was possible to stimulate thismorphological event with physiological amounts of hormone bymimicking, with two injections, the timing of normal increases inendogenous hormone of blood-fed females.
