Summary

Scientists are worried that DNA samples and other biological specimens collected over the past decade may not be made available for research because of concerns that the donors did not give adequate informed consent. Government agencies are looking for ways to satisfy both their scientific and ethical responsibilities, but the solution is not obvious.
