Summary

The crystal structure of the Tetrahymena intron, the first RNA shown to have catalytic activity, has been solved [see the two papers by Cate et al. in this week's issue (p. 1678 and p. 1696)]. Michel and Westhof discuss, in their Perspective, the new structural features that emerge from this new view of RNA.
