Summary

A 12-year-old fight that focused on the confidentiality of peer review ended abruptly last week onthe eve of a jury trial in U.S. court in Seattle. While not admitting any wrongdoing, Immunex Corp. of Seattle agreed to pay $21 million and turn over to the plaintiff, Cistron Biotechnology of Pine Brook, New Jersey, a set of patents Immunex had been accused of obtaining in part by using data from an unpublished Cistron paper.
