Asia and Europe Top in World, But Reasons Are Hard to Find

Summary

A new international assessment of student achievement in science and mathematics puts Asia and Eastern Europe at the head of the class. Discounting the importance of such measures as hours spent watching television, classroom size, and level of technology, it leaves unanswered the question of what works in the classroom.
