Repeated Bursts Puzzle Astronomers

Last week, a U.S.-Russian team announced that four space-based detectors have picked up what might be a vital clue in one of the biggest mysteries of modern astronomy. The detectors picked up signals of four gamma-ray bursts from the same patch of sky in the space of 2 days. This is the first time that gamma-ray bursts, whose origin is still a mystery, have been seen to repeat.
