Summary

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) has appointed 70 new investigators, the largest new class of investigators the elite institution has ever inducted. This expansion has been made possible by the phenomenal growth of HHMI's investment portfolio, which has skyrocketed to a value of nearly $9.7 billion this year. Hughes investigators hold joint appointments with the academic institutions where they are based. A full list of the new investigators is available online.
