Summary

By giving vervet monkeys the drug phencyclidine (PCP)--also known as "angel dust"--researchers, in a Report in this week's Science, have mimicked some of the cognitive deficits that afflict schizophrenia patients. Studies of these monkeys may help clarify why schizophrenia-related problems arise and could also aid in evaluating therapies for improving cognitive function.
