Summary

PASADENA, CALIFORNIA-- For more than a quarter century, scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, focused their attention on massive, costly spacecraft that took decades from conception to arrival at their destination. Shifting gears wasn't easy, but now JPL is learning how to make smaller, cheaper, and faster spacecraft work to its advantage.
