A growing overrun in the cost of building the space station, combined with a continued threat that Russia may not be able to meet its commitment to provide substantial hardware for the new station, will cost NASA an extra $430 million next year. With additional money unlikely, NASA is looking at ways to trim other parts of its budget, including science.
