OTTAWA-- Canadian social scientists contend that their field doesn't receive the same respect--or financial support--accorded the natural and biomedical sciences. So some are now campaigning for either a new foundation for the social sciences or a new program on infrastructure within the government's Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
