Big, beneficial mutations have been thought to come along so rarely that many evolutionary models simply assumed that they play no part in adaptation. But as evolutionists begin to probe the genetic basis behind important adaptations, they are uncovering examples where large changes are caused by only a few genes, dramatically revising how biologists think about evolutionary change.
