Summary

Polymer materials show great potential for easily fabricated display devices, Development of these materials requires control of both electronic and optical properties. Barnes and Samuel (page 211) discuss a paper by Ho et al. (page 233) in which semiconducting polymer mirrors that also trnasport charge are used to control the optical emission from light emitting diodes. This work opens the way for new polymer optoelectronic devices.
