Summary

Last week, the W. M. Keck Foundation announced the winners of its new Distinguished Young Scholars in Medical Research program, a program that will back 25 of the next superstars of biomedical research over the next 5 years and which outdoes all other private efforts to support young faculty members. All five winners say that the flexible $1 million grants will allow them to scale up their research in a way that would otherwise be impossible.
