SEOUL-- When the Korean government decided that most of the Satellite Technology Research Center (SATREC), a university-based institute, should be absorbed by a larger government contractor, employees last month threatened a mass resignation in protest. Now they have started a company that will hire researchers as they are laid off from SATREC over the next 3 years. The new company will market their skills to developing countries and commercialize spin-off technology.
