The Terra satellite, the flagship of NASA's Earth Observing System (EOS), was launched on 18 December 1999. Terra aims to gather a wide range of atmospheric, oceanic and terrestrial data relevant for climate change studies. In this TechView, Yoder focuses on the new capabilities for oceanography offered by Terra's instrumentation.
