Summary

Porous materials have many applications from catalysis to sensors and electronics. Materials with ever larger pores sizes are desired, but their synthesis is rather challenging. In his Perspective, Férey highlights the approach used by Chen et al. , who demonstrate the validity and power of a rational design strategy for solids with large pores.
