The quest to solve the structure of adhesion molecules called integrins has been long and arduous. But, as Humphries and Mould emphasize in their Perspective, the crystal structure of aVb3 integrin has now been resolved to 3.1 Å ( Xiong et al.), a triumph that will be of particular benefit for designing anti-adhesive drugs that block the interactions of integrins with their ligands.
