Summary

Geneticists are eager to discover if comparing sequence variations (called SNPs) among genomes from different individuals will reveal the genetic basis of human traits such as disease susceptibility. In a Perspective, Kwok discusses an ambitious study ( Patil et al.) that moves us one step closer to realizing this dream.
