Summary

The U.S. State Department last week loosened its export rules on scientific satellite projects and told the university community that those regulations aren't intended to stifle scientific research. Researchers, who have campaigned for 3 years to ease the irksome restrictions, say that they are encouraged by this move but that their work isn't finished.
