Summary

BERLIN-- Ian Wilmut, leader of the team that produced the world's first mammal cloned from an adult cell, announced last week that his group will attempt to use nuclear transfer to create human embryos that would then be tapped for stem cell lines. Wilmut and his team are not the first to try nuclear transfer experiments with human tissue, but they appear to be the first to test the United Kingdom's new procedures for approving such studies.
