From genomics to proteomics, analytical tools for high-throughput screening are in increasing demand. In his Perspective, Hampp highlights the report by Das et al., who have developed a simple and flexible analytical tool based on synthetic membrane pores. The method is based on differential binding of the substrate and product of an enzymatic reaction to the pore and should be particularly useful for high-throughout screening in proteomics.
