Summary

The ability of the primate brain to encode visual stimuli requires that the organism also pay attention. In his Perspective, Yantis discusses new work (Bisley and Goldberg) that identifies the parietal lobes of the primate brain as the region responsible for generating a map depicting where attention is focused during vision.
