Summary

President George W. Bush pledged last week to triple U.S. spending on AIDS internationally to $15 billion over the next 5 years. But some in the public health community are disappointed that the Bush plan largely sidesteps a year-old international fund that they say has a much better shot at stemming the epidemic.
