PASADENA, CALIFORNIA-- Evidence is mounting that, although water has at times flowed across the martian surface, it has not lingered as a liquid long enough to alter the planet much chemically. Planetary scientists presented findings here last month, and a report in this issue of Science (p. 1084) provides additional support for that notion.
