Summary

YANGON, MYANMAR (RANGOON, BURMA)-- In 2001, an epidemiologist reported that HIV had infected 3.46% of the adults in Myanmar--a startling analysis that roiled public health officials and the military leaders who run this country. This story is part of a series on HIV/AIDS in Asia; the stories in this initial installment focus on Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand.
