Summary

The function of the immunological synapse formed between T cells and antigen presenting cells is still not clear. In a Perspective, Malissen discusses new work that identifies the immunological synapse as important for both enhancing and terminating TCR signaling, and the adaptor protein that is necessary for the termination step ( Lee et al .).
