Summary

Stomata are structures in the plant epidermis that control the exchange of gases between the plant and its environment. In his Perspective, Sack discusses new work ( Bergmann et al.) that identifies the kinase YODA as a key regulator of the formation of stomata in the model plant Arabidopsis.
