Summary

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA-- Nearly 2500 astronomers skirted floods and a washed-out bridge to attend the largest-ever meeting of the American Astronomical Society, 9 to 13 January. A theorist made a disputed claim: identification of the first bona fide cluster of "ultra high-energy cosmic rays," spat out from colliding groups of galaxies.
