Summary

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN-- About 1200 researchers gathered near the shores of Lake Michigan here from 5 to 9 April. Archaeologists presented evidence that lightweight stone points associated with projectile launchers gave modern humans a technological advantage over Neandertals and their heavier spears.
