Summary

More-precise measurements of the neodymium isotope composition of meteorites, published online this week by Science (www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/abstract/1113634), show that geoscientists have been using an incorrect composition of the rocky Earth as a benchmark to infer everything from mantle compositions to the amount of interior heat being generated by radioactive decay.
