Summary

Thirty-six years after the last influenza pandemic, researchers wonder whether they can make these global disasters a thing of the past. A new model reported online this week in Science (www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/abstract/1115717) predicts that a hypothetical emergent flu strain may be containable.
