Summary

This week in the online edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, a team of Mexican and U.S. scientists report the results of a broad survey for foreign genes in native varieties of corn in southern Mexico: Contrary to what was reported in 2001, they detected no transgenes in seeds from hundreds of corn plants sampled in 2003 and 2004.
