Summary

Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, the archbishop of Vienna, suggested last month in The New York Times that the Catholic Church does not accept "neo-Darwinism." Last week, the Vatican's chief astronomer George Coyne took it upon himself to rebut Schönborn.
