Summary

In a paper published online by Science this week (www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/abstract/1124875), a research team reports that a drug originally developed to treat cancer can forestall symptoms in and increase the survival of mice with a disease similar to Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome, an extremely rare genetic condition that causes what looks like premature aging.
