Summary

HOUSTON, TEXAS-- Hayabusa team members reported at the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference, held here from 13 to 17 March, that half-kilometer-long asteroid Itokawa shows every sign of having been smashed into bits over the eons and reassembled--which now appears to be the likely fate of all small asteroids.
