One theory behind the strange neurological disorder on Guam holds that fruit bats concentrate a compound called BMAA in cycad seeds and deliver a whopping dose to anyone who eats the animals (see main text). Now, researchers have fingered a different suspect compound in cycad seeds, one that the native Chamorros of Guam ingest directly. (Read more.)
