ScienceInsider reported this week that the World Health Organization is defending itself from a German physician who has called the H1N1 swine flu pandemic "fake" because the virus isn't very different from existing strains and that scientists at the helm of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change are discussing steps to respond to issues raised by e-mails uncovered at the University of East Anglia after a theft by a presumed hacker in November, among other stories.
