Genentech Scientist to Take the Helm at Rockefeller University

Summary

Last week, Rockefeller University announced that it has selected Marc Tessier-Lavigne to be its next president. Tessier-Lavigne, 50, is currently executive vice president for research and chief scientific officer at Genentech, the San Francisco Bay–area biotech company. Tessier-Lavigne will assume his new position in March 2011. He spoke with Science last week about the transition.
