Summary

At the Preserving African Cultural Heritage meeting, an archaeologist recounted his recent journey down the Congo River. Archaeologically, the sediment beneath the lush central African jungle is unexplored territory. To perform the first archaeological survey of the center of the continent, he hitched a ride with a team of biologists doing a biodiversity survey from April to June.
