This week's Newsmakers are southern California bond financier Jonathan Thomas, who has just been elected to be the next chair of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine; Russian astrophysicist Rashid Sunyaev and American chemist John Cahn, who have won the Kyoto Prize from the Japanese Inamori Foundation; and microbiologist Phillip Baker, who has been urging PBS affiliate stations not to show the 2008 documentary Under Our Skin, which presents the view that Lyme disease can become chronic, a view that is at odds with mainstream medicine and treatment guidelines.
