Automated Patch Clamp

The CytoPatch Instrument is a fully automated device for gigaseal patch clamp measurements in the whole-cell configuration. The instrument is the first automated patch clamp platform in which the patch clamp process takes place inside a sophisticated, three-dimensional quartz glass microchip with integrated microfluidic channels. This chip technology, in combination with a unique perfusion system, is best suited for measuring the inhibitory effects of slowly acting compounds or measuring very fast activating and desensitizing ligand-gated ion channels. Each instrument is equipped with its own patch clamp amplifier and advanced perfusion system along with its own cell, buffer, and compound supply. One CytoPatch Instrument can perform either as a stand-alone device or as a multiple-unit system in which up to 20 individual instruments can be connected on a network. The CytoPatch Instrument generates gigaseals without the need for seal-enhancing chemicals, offering higher flexibility for study design.

Small RNA Sequencing Kit

The NEXTflex Small RNA Sequencing Kit provides an easy, flexible, cost-effective solution for generating small RNA libraries using Illumina GAIIx and HiSeq 2000 sequencing platforms. The NEXTflex Small RNA Sequencing Kit incorporates AIR Ligase, a truncated T4 RNA Ligase, which significantly increases the efficiency with which small RNAs are tagged with an adapter, giving greater sequence depth. Strand-specific adapter ligation of the RNA enables directional sequencing, making it compatible with mRNA-seq protocols. The new protocol is also designed to significantly reduce adapter dimer formation prevalent in other library preparation protocols. In combination with the NEXTflex Small RNA Barcode Primer Kits, 48 samples can be profiled and studied simultaneously. The ability to pool samples in an efficient way significantly decreases hands-on time while providing robust data quality.

Cell Growth Microplates

BactiGrowth plates provide an optimal microplate solution to enable high yield growth of bacteria, yeast, mammalian, or insect cell lines. Every batch of BactiGrowth plates is rigorously tested to validate their contamination-free status, ensuring reproducibility and maintaining the users' confidence in the cells that are grown. BactiGrowth plates are available in a choice of well formats (24-, 96- and 384-well) and well volumes from 300 μl to 10 ml per well to suit most cellular growth applications. Produced under Class 10,000 clean room conditions from ultra-pure grade polypropylene, BactiGrowth plates contain no molding or polymer contaminants that may leach out and affect cell growth. BactiGrowth plates are supplied in packs of five plates with tight fitting lids sealed in a virgin polymer bag.

Angiogenesis Assays

Directed In Vivo Angiogenesis Assay (DIVAA) kits address the shortcomings of the traditional plug assay by controlling the site for angiogenesis, increasing reproducibility, conserving test compounds, and supplying more statistical data for quantitative analysis. This range of kits is designed to test for activation, inhibition, and tube formation. The kits provide implant grade silicone cylinders closed at one end, called angioreactors. The angioreactors are filled with 20 microlitres of AMSBIO's Basement Membrane Extract (BME) premixed with or without angiogenesis-modulating factors. These angioreactors are then implanted subcutaneously in the dorsal flanks of nude mice. With the onset of angiogenesis, cellular vascularization proceeds to invade the angioreactor, and as early as nine days postimplantation there are enough cells to determine an effective dose response to angiogenic modulating factors. The DIVAA Kit is provided with FITC-Lectin for fluorescent quantitative analysis. Optional protocols are available for analysis with Calcein-AM and Dextran-FITC.

Organic Agarose Gel

CleverGEL is a new high-grade, more environmentally friendly agarose for nucleic acid electrophoresis techniques that is suitable for routine analysis of nucleic acids and is manufactured using an organic, more environmentally friendly solvent-free process. CleverGEL's high resolving capacity across a wide range of fragment sizes, standard gelling-melting temperatures, low electroendosmosis, and high resolution results in gels showing clear and sharp bands, even with small fragments. Finally, its high gel strength enables easy handling of gels and compatibility with blotting techniques. CleverGEL from CSL is available in volumes from 5 g up to 5,000 g and is part of a range of electrophoresis reagents and consumables that include buffers, RNAse-freewater, ready-to-use DNA markers, and GelX disposable gel excision tips.
