Rhesus monkeys Roku and Hex are two of the world's first lab-generated chimeric primates—each is composed of cells representing as many as six distinct genomes. Fakebook, a Facebook look-alike, is rapidly becoming a popular teaching tool for science, history, and other school subjects, with a quarter of a million hits per week. And this week's numbers quantify the improvement in cars' average gas mileage from 1980 to 2006, the percentage of clinical trials that were still unpublished 30 months after they ended, and the increase in toxic chemicals released into the environment from 2009 to 2010.
