The Microlab NIMBUS Enclosed is a protected, multifunctional benchtop workstation that enables gripper movements and a range of pipetting capabilities for tubes and plate within a secure environment. The NIMBUS Enclosed accommodates either the Hamilton CO-RE (compressed O-ring expansion) 96-probe multichannel head or four independent 1 mL channels, all within a locked cover. The new enclosure design includes rear expansion and side integration bays for storage and third-party devices. An optional gripper arm handles single or stacked plates, lids, and tip racks. The arm's extended reach and 270°tation allow seamless integration with devices on and off the workstation deck. The Microlab NIMBUS platform delivers a high-density deck in a compact footprint, for easy benchtop positioning. The affordable system utilizes the same proprietary air displacement technology that is built into all Hamilton STAR workstations, delivering the highest levels of pipetting performance and accuracy.


The new PluraScan is a barcode scanner designed to capture data stored as 2-D data matrix barcodes on cryogenic storage vials, thus saving time while reducing data entry errors. The PluraScan Barcode Reader comes with an out-of-the box software decoder system to import your repository samples into the existing laboratory management software package of your choice. Capable of scanning up to 100 samples simultaneously, the PluraScan Barcode Reader can scan and read individual barcodes on each vial stored in an open-bottom cryogenic storage box simply by placing the box on the scanner. A frost reduction system allows the PluraScan Barcode Reader to scan up to 40 Wheaton KeepIT 81 or 100 Boxes immediately after removal from ultralow temperature storage (3,240 or 4,000 samples, respectively). The acquired, decoded 2-D data are imported directly into most laboratory information management systems and databases, ensuring a reliable method of storing, tracking, and retrieving sample vials.


The PhotoFluor II NIR is the newest member of the PhotoFluor family of light sources designed for quantitative fluorescence imaging. The PhotoFluor II NIR features an extended spectrum to supply light between 360 nm to 800 nm from a DC-stabilized, self-aligning Metal-Halide lamp and spectrally matched liquid light guide. Infrared imaging minimizes the intrinsic autofluorescence of animal and plant tissue, effectively reducing background. Longer wavelengths also scatter less within tissue enabling imaging at focal planes deeper in the tissue. A range of deep red and near infrared fluorescent probes are available including Cy7, IRDye 800, AlexaFluor 750, and the NIR emitting fluorescent protein, iRFP1. As a result, whole animal imaging, tissue imaging, and cellular imaging in highly autofluorescent cell types can be performed with much higher signal to noise. With high output to 800 nm, the PhotoFluor II NIR is the ideal light source for these infrared imaging applications.


The miVac DNA is designed to safely and quickly evaporate solvents from sensitive DNA, RNA, and other biological samples. Delivering best-of-class performance in all aspects, the miVac DNA provides scientists everything they need to safely and swiftly concentrate or dry their samples in a compact, easy-to-use benchtop unit. Simple "select & set" single control knob control enables even new users to obtain excellent results first time and every time. The miVac DNA is capable of removing low volumes of water and organic solvents from a variety of sample formats including tubes, microplates, vials, and round bottom flasks. To facilitate full experimental flexibility the miVac DNA allows advanced users access to special operational modes to speed up concentration of water or water/alcohol mixtures. The miVac DNA offers digital control of concentrator temperature and short concentration times, reducing the risk of heat damage to your samples.


The new SecurityGuard ULTRA system protects widepore (蠅200 Å UHPLC columns typically used in the analysis of biomolecules. The SecurityGuard ULTRA system dramatically extends the lifetime of columns packed with sub-2 micron fully porous or core-shell particles by protecting against the damaging effects of chemical contaminants and microparticulates introduced by the sample, mobile phase, or system. These contaminants can also affect method sensitivity, quantitation, and peak identification. The new SecurityGuard ULTRA product is ideal for virtually any manufacturer's UHPLC, sub-2 micron, or core-shell widepore columns including the Phenomenex Aeris widepore XB-C18, XB-C8, and C4 products. By reducing the frequency of column replacements, as well as the need for troubleshooting and system down time, SecurityGuard ULTRA saves chromatographers time and money. Pressure-rated up to 20,000 psi (1,378 bar), these widepore guard cartridges have no significant impact on chromatography, back pressure, or dead volume.
